We had our septic done October 2024. We were informed we had no choice other than to get the elevated drain system due to our county's water table. It was insanely expensive compared to the regular "old" style drainage system. Also much worse. We NEVER had standing water in our yard until this thing was installed. It has completely ruined our yard. The hill is huge and multiple eye sores with the 2 huge green lids and a big pole with crap on it sticking up. They barely put down grass seed and it's awful with thick hard weeds . They also didn't not come fill in sunken areas like they said they would when spring rolled around. We have called over and over, have been told they will come out asap to fix it. Almost 2 years later, still calling. Spoke to Trey this last time, he said it would be 1 to 2 weeks and they would fill it in. Still no luck. Huge sunken dangerous pits in my yard and a giant hill with water totally around it . Was basically not their problem.
Response from the owner: If you are unhappy with the mound in your yards, the green lids, or the pole sticking out please leave a bad review for Genessee County if you are unhappy with the septic they required you have. You live on property with very high-water table. We are licensed in the county. We HAVE to install what they tell us, and they inspect it. The "huge hill" is your field, and the county required us to install it like that, it had to be "above grade" or "above the ground". The green "eyesores" are your tank lids...also required by the county. The "big pole with crap sticking up" is the alarm for your pump, also required by the county and required to be on the pole like that so you can hear it if your pump fails before sewage backs up into your house. We did a great job with the septic field mound considering the county wanted the entire field built above grade in order to stay out of the very high-water table you live on water table. I understand it was expensive for you; however, I am assuming we were the cheapest quote you had. We installed in October when grass does not grow well with cold temps and the rainy season. We cannot compact firmly your field or your tank and so settling will occur around the tank in wet conditions. We have our customers sign a form before we start their install, which you signed, explaining possible settling around the tank and the possible need for reseeding when installed in rainy season/ cold temperatures. We kindly offered to bring you some topsoil for free, which we did not have to do, to fill around the tank. We are not working anywhere close to your area and hadn't made it there yet. However, if you needed it sooner you could have purchased it from a local supplier within the last 2 years, as we are not responsible for tank settle hence the form you signed when we started. It only needed a yard or so of topsoil. Other than some normal settling "not huge sunken dangerous pits" around the tank when installed in wet conditions the field looks pretty good. Yes, the septic field Genesee County required to be installed at your home is not our problem, there is nothing we can do about it and we have no say in it, nor does any installer. If the septic field location is affecting the drainage in the rest of your yard or you don't like the multiple "eyesores" feel free to reach out to your inspector at the county and make a complaint with them. I can provide the pictures we took from a month ago showing how good your raised bed field looks aside from some minor tank edge settling if needed.
